Autumn Letter 2023
What do you mean, the newsletter is a few days late? Well, that's just to give you even more news! It's been a busy few weeks at Mas de la Dame. Here's a quick recap:
Summer got off to a festive start!
On July 7, Kolybree invited itself to Mas de la Dame to host an incredible Nuit Gourmande.

Ticket sales were through the roof and the courtyard was packed with participants who came to enjoy the event, visit our cellar and discover our wines to music under the stars.
Jeanne Bayol organized her Défilé des Copines in our vineyards, a show eagerly awaited by our guests.
After some bottling, cellar preparation and a bit of tidying up, the (well-deserved) vacation break came quickly.

Once back home, we waited for the harvest to start. To do this, we regularly monitored the grapes' ripening progress, picking berries and analyzing their acidity and sugar concentration ourselves.
Decision taken: Monday August 21, starting with the Roussanne plots.
This marked the start of a 5-week harvest, for which we called on some thirty pickers to harvest our 50 hectares by hand.

Once brought to the winery, the grapes are sorted by us before being destemmed and sent to the press or to a vat.
Hervé Hôte, a photographer in love with light, came to crystallize these moments of work and life.
Harvesting continued until September 22. While fresh grapes were just entering the cellar, some vats of red grapes had already finished their maceration and were devatted.

Vinification will continue for another month before the last wines enter the ageing phase.
The festivities didn't have to wait until the end of the harvest to start up again, as Mas de la Dame took part in the Ovalive 2023 rugby tournament, sponsoring the Italian team.

The tournament brought together 8 teams of children from leading rugby nations to play matches similar to those currently taking place at the World Cup.
A great moment of sport, conviviality and gastronomy.
But the event we were particularly looking forward to was the Rallye des Vignerons des Baux, which took place on Saturday September 23.

A day much appreciated by participants and ourselves alike, where we gave tours of our winery, organized games and tastings, and hosted lunch under a magnificent Berber tent.
Thanks again to all participants for their enthusiasm!
To celebrate the end of the harvest, we held our traditional paella lunch with all the pickers and the entire Mas team.
With the Indian summer just beginning, we enjoyed a delightful moment together in the courtyard to the sound of gypsy guitars.

October is fast approaching, and with it comes a commitment from Mas de la Dame: we'll be taking part in Pink October.
Throughout the month of October, for every bottle of rosé purchased at the winery, €1 will be donated to the Ruban Rose association, dedicated to information and support for breast cancer research.
A movement we're proud to support!
October also sees the start of the olive harvest. It's going to be a great harvest!
We hope to be able to offer you our 3 olive oils again soon, in new bottles.

Mark your calendars:
On November 9 at 6 p.m., nutritionist Barbara Nief will hold her first conference-workshop.
A health conference on the theme of «at the heart of olive oil», followed by a cooking workshop and dinner in our wine library.

Reservations must be made before November 2 by calling
06 81 84 08 81.
Places limited to 15 people. Participation €36 (special introductory offer for this first meeting).
Did you know that Mas de la Dame has been in our family for 120 years?
It was our great-grandfather, Auguste Faye, who bought it in 1903 after falling in love with it.

To pay tribute to him, we've decided to name our traditional method cuvées after him, and to mark the occasion, they'll be adorned with new labels.
A sparkling spirit in an elegant suit - the parallel couldn't be more apt!
As always, we'll be delighted to welcome you to our cellar to help you discover our wines and olive oils, from 8.30am to 7pm on weekdays and 9am to 7pm on weekends (and until 6pm after October 29th, the day on which daylight saving time begins).
See you soon in our beautiful setting,
Anne and Caroline
